General description
This route connects higher Valtrompia and higher Valsabbia with challenging climbs, which is why it’s suitable for well-trained cyclists.
Starting from Idro you’ll ride along the western side of Lake Idro until Sant’Antonio locality, where a rideable 5km climb to Bagolino begins.
We recommend taking a break in the old town.
At this point, the hardest uphill starts, reaching Passo Maniva on an 11km rough path and intense slopes.
The effort fades watching the wonderful landscape around you, especially in the higher zone. Once at the peak, dive down the mountain to reach Valtrompia and, right after Bovegno, the uphill to Irma starts, passing through Marmentino and Passo Termine, arriving in Valsabbia. 10 challenging kilometres, especially after the previous hard slope.
You’ll cross Pertica Alta territory passing through Lavino, Odeno, Livemmo and Belprato down to Vestone, then turning back to Idro.
