Museo Boifava

Description

This is an ethnographic museum located in what was once the house of Father Pietro Boifava, the priest who fought in the Ten Days of Brescia (an uprising movement against Austrian oppression in 1849). The museum was put together by the students in their final year at the Middle School of Serle (class 3A), in alliance with the local Tourism Administration, who described their work at the museum and what motivated them to develop it as so:
“We wanted to convey to all the future generations the importance of our origins, and in a way, show them a journey from the past through to the present. We wanted to leave our successors and our community with a reason to remember us and to commemorate our roots, because without them, neither the present nor the future can exist.”
